Team Voltron and the Blade of Mamora were on a joint diplomatic mission. They were on the planet Ser, which was known for its flora. Many different plants, crops, and chemicals grew on this planet. It would be a great asset to the Coiliton.
The two teams were currently being given a tour of the grand forests and meadows of the planet. While Alurra and Shiro stood at the front, Kolivan and Lance stood at the back.
“Shouldn’t you be up front?” Lance asked.
“Hm?” Kolivan glanced down at the blue paladin.
“I just mean, because all the alliance stuff if happening up there? And your the BOM leader-“
“I have never been much for fluffy pleasantries,” Kolivan scoffed. “I will allow your leader to do the talking. I will sign the treaty when requested to.”
Lance nodded slowly. “So its not cause you wanted to keep me company?~”
Kolivan frozen for a second, before he stuttered. “Certainly not.”
Lance mumbled to himself teasingly.
The group approached a large greens house, seemingly in the middle of nowhere.
“Whats that?” Pidge asked.
“That,” the tour guide said. “Is our insect house!”
“Insects?!” Hunk shivered.
“Worry not,” the tour guide said. “They are enclosed safely.”
Pidge perked up. “Can we go inside?! I’d love to study them!”
The tour guide chuckled. “Perhaps another time,”
Pidge grumbled, as they walked passed the glass windows.
Lance couldn’t help but peak inside. It looked like a moist house, with many vines and plants inside. Thousands of bugs, butter flies, and insects were crowding the area. Suddenly, Lance noticed something on his side of the window sill! It was a beautiful purple butterfly like creature. It wings were purple yes, but had a tie dye pastel pink pattern. It was beautiful!”
“Blue Paladin, we are going to fall behind the group,” Kolivan said.
“Kolivan, check this out!” Lance smiled. The Buttlerfly crawled onto his finger, and he held it up to Kolivan.
“Blue Paladin, we should not be touching it.” Kolivan said, yet he still leaned close to see the bug.
“Isn’t it pretty?” Lance asked.
“I-I suppose-“ the Bug flew onto Kolivan’s finger. “A-Ah!”
“Don’t scare it!” Lance whispered. “it likes you!”
The two were very close to eachother, staring down at the bug. The butterflies wings fluttered beautifully and-
“AH!!” Kolivamn cried out in pain, stumbling back.
“Kolivan! Are you ok?” Lance cried.
“It bit me I believe,” Kolivan said, clutching his hand. “It shouldn’t hurt as much as it does...” He kept his eyes cast downward.
“is it bleeding?” Lance reached for Kolivan’s hand and grasped it.
As soon as Lance made contact, Kolivan’s eyes shot up at Lance. His eyes were sparkling, as he was in awe.
“Kolivan? Does the bite still hurt-“
Kolivan, whose hand was still gripping Lance’s, pulled Lance close to him. He caressed Lance’s cheek. “You are beautiful Blue Paladin,”
Lance blushed. “h-hUH?”
Kolivan pulled Lance into his lap and cradled him.
“Kolivan, we have to go to the group!” Lance said.
“No,”
“What are you-“
“I want to hold you.”
Lance sighed. Something was up, Kolivan was acting odd. Lance had to hide his blush, because he could admit he was enjoying this attention from his crush. But still! It was odd!
“You smell nice Blue Paladin,” Kolivan nuzzled Lance’s neck.
It sent shivers down Lance’s spine. “Wh-What do I smell like?”
“Mmmmm....like salt water and citrus.” Kolivan sighed happily.
“Thanks?” Lance chuckled. “Ok Kolivan, we need to get back to the group. We’ve fallen very behind.”
“But I want to keep holding you-“
“You can still hold my hand, ok?”
“Ok...”
Kolivan stood up, and held Lance’s hand securely. They rushed to catch up to the group. Oh god how was Lance going to explain this?!

They finally caught up with the group. The group didn’t seem to have noticed their absence much. The group continued to listen to the tour guide.
“Ma’am! Ma’am!” Another Ser alien rushed to the tour guide. “We have a problem!”
“What is it?” The tour guide asked
“I was on insect duty! I was counting them, when I realized one of the love bugs is missing! It escaped!”
“Oh no! We must retrieve it before it reads havoc!”
“LoveBug?” Lance asked, making himself known. “That must be the bug that bit Kolivan!”
The team turned to them.
“It bit Kolivan- AH!” Keith cried out, seeing Kolivan.
Kolivan had gotten tired of holding Lance’s hand, and was now leaning on Lance a little. He had an affectionate smile on his face.
“yeah, that thing bit Kolivan.” Pidge said.
“We had noticed it outside the insect house! We were looking at it and it bit Kolivan.” Lance said. “And here we are,”
The tour guide stepped forward. “The LoveBug is very attracted to the color purple. Many of our people and flora is purple, so we quarentined the bug years ago. However, it seemed one has escaped. We will end the tour here, as we need to go retrieve the insect.” They began to walk away with the other staff.
“Wait!” Shiro called out. “How do we cure Kolivan?”
“The venom will last a week. Its best to keep them close to eachother, and let it run its course.”
“A WEEK?!”

Kolivan led Lance into the BOM base. The team had agreed to let Lance go stay with Kolivan for the week. It was that, or let Kolivan stay at the castle. And Kolivan had work to do. This made Lance feel like such a burden, even though it should’ve been vise versa.
“Kolivan sir!” Thace saluted his leader. “And Blue Paladin,”
Kolivan nodded to Thace, but then all his attention was on Lance again. Thace looked very confused.
“H-He was bit by a LoveBug,” Lance explained. “It’ll last a week.”
Thace nodded slowly. He seemed to be smirking, though Lance wasn’t sure why.
“Well Kolivan has work to do. But seeing the situation, I can handle it-“
“No!” Lance cried. “H-he can do it! Can’t you Kolivan?”
“I don’t want to do work,” Kolivan nuzzled Lance again. “I want to spend time with you...”
Lance couldn’t let this happen!
“C-C’mon Kolivan,” Lance said nervously. “We’re in war remember?”
“Whatever about war,” Kolivan said. “I wonder if after the war you and me can get married...”
Thace burst out laughing, and Lance blushed.
“K-Kolivan!!” lance gasped.
“What?” Kolivan asked.
“Thace, help me out!”
“Alright Alright.” Thace sighed. “Kolivan sir, you do have work you need to get done.”
Kolivan gave puppy eyes, “But-“
“If Lance agrees to sit on your lap as you do work, will you get it done?”
“WHAT?!” Lance cried.
“Ok!” Kolivan smiled.

Lance face was very red. He was sitting on Kolivan’s lap. His lap! DURING A BOM MISSION BREIFING!!!
The blades around him looked awkward, but also giggling. Knowingly, giggling. What was that about?!
Kolivan was somehow managing to do his work as normal, as long as Lance was on his lap.
“Alright,” Kolivan began. “This is where the Galra ship’s controls are. You are to go from underneath and subbetly turn off their defenses, outer and inner. With no other ship in sight, they will belive it is a simple malfunction. Due to this they won;t be in an urgent rush to fix it. This will give you time to get to gain the ship’s logs and database info. Understand?”
The Blades nodded.
“I have an idea,” Lance spoke up.
“Yes dear?”
Lance blushed at the pet name, but continued. “I-Its optional, but if the defenses are still down when you are out, maybe try and destroy the ship as well? But only if its an option!”
It was silent, but the other blades weren’t objecting.
“You heard him,” Kolivan said. “Destroy the ship if optional.”
The blades nodded.
“You are dismissed.”
The blades left the room, leaving Lance and Kolivan alone.
“Good idea Lance,” Kolivan said.
“Thanks,” Lance chuckled. “So....should we leave or...?”
“But I like to be alone with you~” Kolivan leaned closer in a teasing manner.
Lance blushed and leaned away slightly. Oh what he would’ve given to lean closer, but there was no way Kolivan actually liked him. This was all the stupid LoveBug.
“K-Kolivan, don’t you have to go train?” Lance brought up his next task.
Kolivan sighed. “I do.”
“Then lets go do that!” Lance hopped off Kolivan’s lap.
Kolivan stood up, and walked hand in hand with Lance.

The blades giggled as they saw their leader holding hands with the blue Paladin in the halls.
One Blade was Laughing very loud and hard.
“hey!” Lance said. “Look, this isn’t;t his fault. He’s not himself.”
“He’s not?” The blade asked.
“of course not! Whats thats supposed to mean?!”
“Well its just that he already-“
Thace walked over quickly and shut the blade up. “ignore him please,” Thace said. “Go get Kolivan to train.”
Lance nodded, confused.

Kolivan and Lance stepped into the BOM training room. It was different from the castle. There was only one retracing bot. Everything else was a stuffed dummy and target. Thousands of knives lined the walls, and a bit of useable armor.
“Well, get to it it!” Lance smiled. He wasn’t much for knives, so he’d sit out-
“Are you going to Join me, Blue Paladin?” Kolivan asked.
“N-No, sorry. I’ve never used a blade.”
“I will teach you.”
Kolivan Brought Lance into the middle of the room. He handed lance a small blade.
“we will start with a dagger. Work up to a Sword.” Kolivan explained.
“O-Ok...” Lance said nervously.
“Hold the dagger like this,” Kolivan moved his stance, and raised the dagger.
Lance tried to copy him. Kolivan shook his head, and Lance tried again.
“here, let me help.” Kolivan stood behind Lance. he repostiotioned Lance’s dance. Then he leaned in close, and helped Lance hold the Dagger. Their faces were very close.
“Like this?” Lance could feel Kolivan’s breath on his cheek.
“Yes, very good Lance.” Kolivan whispered.
Kolivan didn’t often say Lance’s name. It made him feel fluttery inside!
Kolivan taught Lance a few moves with the dagger. Lance was pretty agile. He liked his gun, but he didn;t get to move around as much with it. Perhaps he should talk to Alurra about a knife-
“Very good Lance,” Kolivan nodded.
Lance felt fluttery again.
“Now, lets spar.”
“Spar? With you?!” Lance gasped.
“I will go a little easy.”
“Y-You don’t have to go easy!” Lance shouted.
“I don’t?” Kolivan’s smirked.
“Yeah!”
“very well. BEGIN!”
Kolivan launched him’s at Lance. Lance rolled away, but Kolivan was quickly on his tail. Lance swung them dagger at Kolivan, but missed. Kolivan swung his Dagger right above Lance’s head. A trick, because when he ducked below it by leaning back, Kolivan kicked his calves and Lance tripped onto his back. Kolivan pinned him.
“I win,” Kolivan said.
“You sure didn;t go easy...” Lance panted.
Kolivan said nothing, he just smirked, still leaning over the paladin. He leaned in closer to Lance’s face.
“You look beautiful Lance,” Kolivan said.
Oh god, Kolivan was going to kiss him! B-But its just the LoveBug! It’s not Real! Its not-
Kolivan’s lips smacked into Lance’s. They were surprisingly soft, and Lance couldn’t stop himself from melting into them.
It was just the LoveBug, Lance kept telling himself. But he could at least enjoy it a little longer.
