~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The town of Khambalia was a well known one. It was once the spot of a well known myth. However if you asked the townspeople, they will say it is all very true:
Long ago the stars descended from the veterans and waged war against the people of the town. The people of the town knew they had no chance against the astral warriors. But a young scholar stepped up to the tasks of defeating the stars. With his incredible knowledge he create a battle plan. With the help of the soldiers of the town, they defeated the stars and banished them back to the sky forever more. Its said they shine brightly above the town, as they are burning in agony.
However the young scholar, once known as Logan Sanders, whom had brought the town victory? It is said that the stars cursed him to stone as revenge for their defeat. Logan is now a statue in the center of the town. He reaches his hand out below, in hopes someone will take it. It is said that once his soulmate joins hands with him, he will return to his true form.
The city was huge, and a large tourist spot due to this. Many would come far and wide not just for the Musems based on the myth, but to see the famous statue. After all, it made for a great photo.
Patton Wolf, was one of these said tourists. He was an nice man for sure, and quite the tourist. However, he was a lonely one at that. With very few friends, not many were willing to drop everything for a quick sight seeing trip like he was. Patton had never felt like he had a home. Sure, he lived in an apparent in New York. But it didn’t feel like home. He liked to go other places when he could, in hopes to find this forever home. Wether it be a place, or a person.
So thats our Patton found himself in the town of Khambalia. With the story of a the Astrial Battle, it had always been on Patton’s list to visit the statue. When he first saw it, he was surprised to see no crowd. But then again, it was a Monday. Many were at work. However he didn’t expect the park to be EMPTY.
The statue of the poor scholar was...beautiful. The stone man had a sharp jawline, and round glasses. He wore what seemed to be a scholar’s suit from maybe the 1700. However his eyes were so incredibly detailed. Normally a statue is simply white eyed. However this one was not. Though there was no color or life to them, you could see the longing in them. His firm looking hand was out stretched, awaiting his “Soulmate”.
patton chuckled to himself. Perhaps this statue was just as lonely as he was. Patton pulled out his phone. He would at least get a selfie while here. He gripped the Statue’s hand, and took the photo. The camera flashed quick and fast. PAtton was almost blinded for a sec. He looked down at. The photo. It looked good!
Patton felt something...warm in his hand. He was still holding the statue’s hand. He tried to let go but...it held his hand back?! Patton turned to his side to see a very much living man next to him. He looked identical to the statue. He looked at Patton with curiosity, but did not let go of his hand. As if he was afraid to. Patton tried to take a step away, but accidentally pulled the previous statue with him. He began to fall, very weak. Patton caught him in his arms, and they stared into eachothers eyes.
Logan Sanders had bright blue eyes now, that no longer had longing, but desperateness. He couldn’t let go. He WOULDN’T let go. For if he did, would he return to stone? His soulmate had finally found him, he couldn’t lose him now! He looked up at his soulmate, and asked for the year. The area looked so...cleaner. How long had it been for his soulmate to find him?
His soulmate looked at him with a nervous look. He said 2021. That was years....decades...centuries! That meant....
The statue took off. Wether or not he was wobbly from not using his legs for....years....he had to find him! His soulmate called after him to wait, but the statue did no such thing.
——————-
Logan Sanders rushed through the new and busy streets of his home town. Machines of silver and speed rushed through the streets, almost killing him three times! However, he still ran. He ran and ran, until he reached the end of the town. He also took sobbed with relief, seeing the familiar house. This was not his house, but a dear friend’s. He ran up the steps, which creaked. They didn't creak before?
Logan pounded on the door. Five seconds of waiting, he burst down the door. He looked around the front hall. It looked the same, but-
Someone rushed down the stairs, yelling about how they were just about to open the door. Logan sobbed at the sight of his best friend Romulus. He ran to his friend, hugging him. He knew it wasn’t 2021! Romulus was right here! Right here in his arms-
Romulus asked who he was.
No....NO! Logan cried out in fear. He asked is Romulus remembered him. The man chuckled, claiming many said he looked like his great great great grandfather. He was even named after the old Romulus, along with his twin brother. The man claimed his name was Remus, and that he was known for looking identical to his grandfather.
Logan shook his head, about to bolt. However, his soulmate burst into the home. He must’ve been followed. His soulmate apologized to Remus, and ushered Logan out.
______________
Patton comforted his new...soulmate, as he cried. He sobbed and sobbed. Poor Logan. The statue had been frozen for so long! He had lost everything.
Logan asked what to do. Logan was a scholar, known for being smart. But so much had happened, so many years. How was he ever going to catch up.
Patton comforted him. Patton knew it wasn’t going to be easy. But they were soulmates now. And Patton was going to help his soulmate no matter what.
THE END
I wanted to challenge myself to do a “NO DILOGE’ story :)
