Langst oneshot--Despair

Ok! So I was inspired by that one scene in Shera season 4. But most people thought it was like the "Never ending story" so we're gonna go based off that. I never actually finished that movie, Is topped when the horse died.

Ok lets go!

Bold equals Lance's thoughts

Team Voltron were in a ig chase with some galra, who had prisoners captive. Team Voltron's mission was to rescue these prisoners.
But in order to get to the galran base, they had to cross the "Swamp of Despair". It was said in order to cross it, one must be confident and pass with hope.
Hope? Lance had lost it all a long time ago.

"C'mon guys!" Pidge said, running across the swamp. The others ran after her with ease. However, Lance was having trouble. His legs kept getting stuck in the muck and tangled in plants.
"Lance hurry up!" Shiro shouted.
"I'm trying!" Lance grunted.
"No you're not," Hunk mumbled.

But Lance heard.

You don't matter, said a voice.
Yes I do, Lance thought back.

Look at them, so filled with hop, the voice said. They could easily save the universe without you...
You're right.
Stay here Lance, become one with us. Let your worries drift away....

Lance hadn't even noticed that he had stopped moving. The swampy water had seemed to rise to his knees, and the plants were almost hugging him.
Not that Lance noticed, for he was lost in thought...Despair.

----

"We made it! C'mon guys we gotta hurry!" Pidge cried.
"Wait! Where's Lance?" Keith asked.
"Uh! He's so slow!" Pidge cried.
"We don't have time," Shiro said. "Lets go-"
"I'll go and find Lance, we'll meet you in there." Keith said.
"Fine but be quick!" Alurra said through the coms.

...

Keith trudged through the swamp. This was weird. Lance was so far behind he could'nt even see him-
"AH!" Keith tripped. "What the- LANCE!"

Lance almost fully underwater?! But how?! It was like, not even a foot deep?! Keith managed to pull Lance out of the water and untangle him from the plants.
"Lance? Lance c'mon wake up!" Keith cried.
Lance's eyes didn't open.

"Guys, Lance isn't ok! I'm taking him back to the castle." Keith said through the coms.
"What happened?" Alurra asked.
"He somehow almost drowned in the swamp? But I don't understand its like not even a-"
"Keith! Get him back here now!" Corran cried.
"Whats wrong?!"
"NOW!"

----

Corran was working on Lance in the castle medical operating room. The others were outside.
"Whats going on? Is it really that bad?" Hunk asked.

Corran suddenly stepped out of the room, out of breath and wet cheeks.
"How is he Corran?" Alurra asked.
"He'll be ok, we're so very lucky. Thank you Keith for saving him!" Corran gave Keith a hug.
"But how did he even drown? It was like, a foot deep!" Keith asked.

"The swamp of despair, there are voices there. Voices that tell you such painful words and insecurities...you can drown in them."
"Are-Are you serious?!" Shiro asked.
"Most cross the swamp because the voices are quiet. But Lance could've died. But lets hope he's OK when he wakes up. There's a nasty side effect of that water when in it for too long..."

...

Keith was there when Lance woke up.
"Lance! I was so worried!" Keith hugged him.

"Were you?"

Keith let Lance go. "What do you mean? Of course I was-"

Lance's eyes were a deep grey. This is what Corran warned them of. If Lance's eyes were grey, it meant the voices were now inside of him. And would never stop talking, never leave.

"I mean, you guys don't care. Just leave me alone," Lance walked away.

Voltron LANGST onehsot--frozen

Ironic I just saw forzen two! Been a while folks! Hope you enjoy!

Bayard upgrades were a time of celebration for team Voltron. Everytime it got a new form or upgrade, the team would celebrate them.

Lance had the most upgrades out of anyone, yet a party had never been thrown for him. Everyone always shrugged him off, scoffing whenever he wished to speak.
Lance's newest upgrade had matched his feelings: he could now freeze any opponent in ice with a blast from his rifle.
Lance took this as a sign, the team had frozen him out of their lives. It was time to make it a literal reality...

...

Lance had wanted to die for a while. But he held off, knowing the pain. Until now, for he realized he would not be in pain when he froze himself. Lance sat in blue as he aimed his gun at his chest.

My son please no! Blue cried.

"Heh, sorry Blue," Lance chuckled. "Its for the best..."

Lance felt the cold spread throughout his body, it was soothing. The last thing he heard was Blue's scream of agony before it all went white...

____

The team stood in their chairs when they heard blue screech.
"What's happening?!" Hunk asked.
"Lance might be in danger! Lets go!" Pidge said as she started rushing to Blue's hanger the others behind her.

...

The team ran into blue's cokpit to see a terrifying sight:

Lance was frozen before their eyes.
"Quick! Shiro melt it!!!" Alurra cried.

Shiro placed his robot hand on the ice, and it turned to steam.
Keith ran to Lance. "Lance! Lance wake up!"

Lance's skin was so cold..!

"Let me see-" Corran felt for Lance's pulse. "Must've been hypothermia, he's...dead!"

The team gasped.
"There's a note!" Keith held up a peace of paper.

You Froze me out, better to make it official

-Lance.
