Voltron KLANCE oneshot—Bodyguard AU

I've been listening to "I know its today" (Song here) a lot. So u can guess...

I'm not sure when this takes place. There's coms, but there's also horses.

Lance looked out the window of the tall tower. Lance looked at Altea in the distance. How he longes to return to his sister, father, his home.

He remember how he got to the Galra tower vividly.

It was Lance's seven's birthday. The cake was ready, the ballroom decorated, and his whole family was there! But then, the Galra attacked(but then the fire nation attacked). Zarkon's army captured Lance.

Lance remembered standing before Zarkon, has he demanded in the future Lance would marry his son, Lotor. Lance refused, and was locked in a high tower until he obeyed.

The galra servants, who took pity on him, took it upon themselves to educate him.

So Lance was well educated, but not free.

Lance snapped out his daze when there was a knock on the door.

"Hello darling," Prince Lotor entered.

Lance rolled his eyes and kept his gaze ob Altea. 

"Don't call me that," Lance said.

"Aw why not?" Lotor hugged Lance from behind. "You'll be mine soon enough,"

Lance pushed Lotor off of him.

"What are you talking about?"

"Haven't you heard?" Lotor smirked. 

"The wedding is finally being planned." Lotor steppes closer to Lance.

"Never!" Lance screamed. "I wouldn't"t marry you ten years ago and I won't now!"

"I'll return tomorrow," Lotor left the tower.

Lance walked over to his bed and had a mini tantrum into his pillow.

Alurra sat in the thrown room with her father. She looked over at the tiny throne her younger brother once sat in.

She swore he would sit there again(well, in a throne at least).

"Alurra, are you aware of the plan taking place tomorrow?" Her father, King Alfor, asked.

"No," she responded. "What plan?"

"We've hired a group of Galra rebels, the 'Blade of Mamora' to rescue Lance."

"R-Really?!" 

"Alurra, we will get him back."

Lance looked out the tower once again. What else was he to do? He had read all the books provided, drawn and written on all the paper provided. There was nothing to do.

Well, not nothing.

He could still sing if he wanted.

Keith was a blade of mamora member. Ge had been training his whole life for any mission. And now? Saving the long lost Prince? The mission of a lifetime?! 

And HE was on it?!

Lets just say he was nervous.

But, he honestly had no reason to be. All he was doing was hiding in a bush keeping watch.

Suddenly, he started to hear singing.

"But there's gonna be blue skies, for you and I. We'll step out of the shadows and into the light,"

Keith looked at the tower behind him and looked upwards. There was an altean in the tower! It had to be the Prince!

"I think I found the Prince," Keith said into the coms. "He's in the tallest tower-"

"We can't get there!" Kolivan, leader of the BOM and mission said back. "That area is heavily guarded, and we don't have enough members to fight them. Do you think you could get up there?"

Keith looked up.

He didn't win the title of "best climber" for nothing!

...

Keith's claws and grippe gloves helped the climb to fast. And any time he was close to being spotted, he would swing to the other side of the tower. Finally Keith pulled himself through the window.

"Hello?" he whispered. "Your highness?"

"Wh-What do you want?" someone stepped out from inside the closet(LOL). He was very handsome. He had dark hair and a bright blue eyes.

"Are you Prince Lance?" Keith asked.

"Yes," the person said. "Who are you?"

Keith got down on one knee and bowed his head. "Prince Lance, my name is Keith Kogane: loyal member to the Blade of Mamaora, a group of galran rebels. I have come to rescue you."

"No way, really?" Prince Lance smiled hopefully.

"Yes," Keith said. "I'm going to carry you on my back as I climb down the tower, okay?"

Lance nodded.

"Oh wait! I need to leave a note for the servants!" Lance started to write on a piece of paper he had found under the bed.

"What are you thinking?!" Keith quickly covered his mouth. "I apologize your highness. Just, won'tn that lead them to us?"

"I'm not going to tell them where we're going silly," Lance laughed. "I just wanted to thank them. They helped educate me for the last ten years."

Lance put down the pen and walked over to Keith.

"Ready!"

Lance and Keith reached the soft grass, and made a dart for the horses. 

"Sir, I have the Prince!" Keith said into his coms. 

"Good work," Kolivan said back. "Get him out of here and back to Altea. We're right behind you."

Lance was lifted off the horse. He looked up at the castle he hadn't seen in 10 years. He couldn't wait any longer. He bolted into the throne room, Keith close behind him.

He burst into the room, and there they were. He'd recognize them anywhere.

His sister and father.

"ALURRA! FATHER!" Lance screamed in joy.

"LANCE!!!" the two screamed and ran to him.

The three were enveloped in a strong embrace of tears. 

"I've missed you so much!" Lance sobbed.

"We're so glad your back!" Alurra cried hard.

"Your home..." Alfor said hugging his son tighter.

...

Lance entered his old room. Everything was the same. The baby bed, the toys, and the photos of him and his family.

"We never touched this room," Alurra said.

"Thank you," Lance smiled. "But, I can't really sleep in that," Lance pointed to the tiny bed. 

Alurra looked at him. he had grown up to be pretty tall.

"Of course! We'll have the whole room redone!" Alurra said.

"Alurra, your fine." Lance said. "I've just...its been 10 years. I grew up. I found interests I can't wait to share!"

Alurra smiled. 

"For now though, all I would like is a new bed, and to have my room completely blank."

"You used to love pretty things. What changed?"

"Nothing, I would just like to decorate to room when I gain new experiences. You know? Gain some belongings my own way."

"I think that's wonderful."

Suddenly, the clock tower rang.

"Oh! That's father calling us to the throne room! C'mon!"

...

Lance and Alurra made to the throne room. The whole BOM team was there, including Keith.

Lance waved at him., and h waved back.

Before his father could even address him, Lance ran up to the team and hugged each of them.

"Thank you all so much for rescuing me!" Lance said. 

"Lance, we want to keep you safe," Alfor said. "So, we would like to assign you a bodyguard."

Lance shrugged. He could accept that. 

"So, the Blad eand I agreed you may chose one of them to have the job."

"Oh that's easy," Lance said. "Keith!"

Keith looked up. "Wh-What? Why me?"

"Everyone one of you helped me escape, but Keith is the one who escorted me out of the tower! Plus, your a cutie!"

Keith blushed heavily.

"Keith Kogane it is!"

TWO DAYS LATER:

"Lance!" Alurra called.

"Yes?" Alurra asked.

"The kingdom is celebrating your return! I thought you and Keith could go down and say hello?"

"That sounds like fun! I haven't been to the villages in..1...2...3...um...I think I was six?"

"Five," Alurra giggled.

Lance turned to Keith, who was by his side. "Is that Ok with you? If we head to the down town?"

"Why are you asking me?" Keith asked. "Your in charge."

"Well you deserve a say too! So?"

"I'm fine with it."

...

Lance rode on Keith's horse with him as they waved to all the villagers. 

"Keith stop!" Lance said.

"What is it?" Keith asked.

Lance mounted off the horse and walked up to a little girl.

"Hello..." the girl said.

"Hello!" Lance smiled. "I noticed you seemed to be trying to get my attention."

The girl nodded. She revealed a two flowers from behind her back.

Lance gasped. "They're beautiful!" he said in awe.

"They're for you," the girl said.

"Thank you," Lance smiled.

Lance put a flower behind his ear. He mounted the horse, and put one behind Keith's furry ear as well.

Keith chuckled, and they rode on.

Lance and Keith found themselves in a meadow a little ways away from the kingdom. 

Lance just sat there, picking at the flowers. Eventually, Lance looked up at Keith, who was waiting by the horse.

"Will you sit with me?" Lance asked.

"Why?" Keith asked.

"I'm lonely," Lance pouted.

Keith sat down with Lance.

Lance put a flower crown on Keith's head, and then one on his own.

"You're pretty," Lance smiled.

Keith blushed.

Soon, a love would blossom between them.
