Sneak Peak: The neighborhood

I looked up at my new home. Online, it said that it had only one floor, and a basement. The first floor had a kitchen, that was pretty classic, one bathroom, two bedrooms, and a an office. The basement had one big room for storage, and a second one for who knows what!
And it honestly looked like a pile of wood.
"Home sweet home!" my mom said.
"Sure," I said.
We heard a honking truck from up the street. It was our small moving company! We didn't own a lot since my dad and brother left. Just a few chairs, desks, and computers. We sold our beds for extra money. Besides, the past owners had left their beds here.
"Well! Go look around!" My mom shoved me out of the car.
"OK! Jeez!" I stood up and walked into the home.
It was really dusty, and smelled stuffy. I opened a few windows, only for swarms of flies to neter.
"Crap!" I shouted, as I tried to shoo them out.

I looked inside the smaller room that was to be mine. The closet was really small, and so was the bed. All the walls were ivory, with worn out wallpaper. There was a small, faded painting of a couple. Their smiles were old. The bed looked really rickody. I sat down, and it squeaked!
"Great!" I said. "This house sucks!"
"Don't say that!" my mom came in through the doorway. "You just need to decorate!"
I nodded. It was true. All I needed was my stuff, a duster, and a new paint job! Lucky for me, I'm quite the artist, and would easily be able to this weekend.
I walked outside, and saw the small moving truck. I grabbed my three boxes, and went into my room. Yeah, that's right! All have is three boxes. One of my cloths, second of bedding, and third of personal belongings!
We had lost a lot since dad and my brother left...
A day later, I looked around my new room. It now had a half full closet of shoes and cloths. My bed had bright green linings, and two matching pillows, with my teddy bear on top. My desk(now set up) had my laptop, a lamp, and a picture of my family. I looked at myself in the mirror I had hung up.
"It's gonna be OK," I said to myself. "Things, are gonna be fine!"

A week later, I sat with my mom at our bar in the kitchen. She drank stress wine while I drank stress juice.
"Have you met anyone yet?" my mom asked.
"I haven't been out of the house yet," I said.
"Oh!" my mom gasped.
She acted surprised.
"You know, there's a Subway down the street. Would you mind getting me a cookie?" she handed me a dollar, so I could get one too.
"Sure mom," I said, and ran out the door.
The sun was hot, and the breeze was cool as I walked down the street of my new town. I walked into the subway. The fresh toasted bread made me forget all about my troubles. I stood in line, waiting to get my cookies.
There seemed to be a lot of girls there. Like, A TON! All of them gave me a valley girl vibe. I felt so bad for the crowd the one sandwich maker was having to endure. That was, until I saw him.
He was incredibly handsome. He had strawberry blonde hair, tied up in a man-bun, with a healthy skinny body. No wonder there ere so many girls!
"Huba Huba!" I mumbled.
"You have no chance,"
I turned around, and saw a boy, about my age. He seemed just one year below me, but his eyes told me he had experience.
"I wouldn't give him the doll eyes," said the boy. "That's Chase, caption of the lacrosse team, and the hottest boy in school. All the girls fawn over him. That's why they make sure to come here regularly."
"And you are?" I asked.
"Clancy," he said.
(If you know what I'm referencing, please tell me! Because if so, you reader, are awesome)
"Ruby," I shook his hand.
"What can I get you?" Chase asked.
"Just two cookies," I said. "Double chocolate."
Chase put the cookies in a paper bag, and handed them to me. I handed him the dollar, and he winked at me. I could almost hear all the girls in the shop gasp.
As I walked out of the store, Clancy ran up to me.
"Hey, how'd you do that?"he asked.
"Do what?" I asked.
"Get him to wink at you!"
"Doesn't he do that to everyone?"
"Nah girl!" Clancy said in awe. "He only does it to the hottest girls in school!"
"Me? Hott? HA!" I laughed. "You know, I should post this whole thing on my blog."
"You have a blog? What's it called?"
"Teen truths."
"You write that blog? I love that blog!"
"Really?"
"Yeah! Its really popular!"
"Don't tell anyone it's me! I'd like to get a fresh reputation before I taint it with my blog."
"Alright," said Clancy. "Maybe I'll see you at school this Monday!" He waved and walked up the separate path.
